The heatshield is a material built by a net of strings of polyethylene interwoven with sheets of aluminum, but in variable proportions that allow for different transparency values and solar reflection, improving the climate in the greenhouse.

The utilization of the heatshield is accompanied by a mechanical system of cables, profiles, axes, etc. that allow to open and close completely exploiting the optimal weather conditions for the crops and creating all the possibilities for aeration and ventilation.

The effect of the heatshield among others, is the following: When the shield closes during the day, it reflects part of the solar rays letting through only a few, the quantity of solar radiation reflected depends on the proportion of the aluminum sheets.  This way the rays affect the crops with a new density, making the temperature drop to about 10ºC.


A different effect is achieved if the shield is closed during the night, the polyethylene absorbs 80% of the irradiation of the floor's heat, the loss of heat is reduced even more because of the aluminum that covers the polyethylene which has a very low value of emissions.


The end result is that the greenhouse environment and the crop lose a lot less heat.


When the shields are closed at the end of the day, it is possible to conserve part of the heat that incorporated during the day and the crops will easily be at 6ºC more than if the greenhouse didn't have such a shield.


Also, the crops don't lose more heat than the greenhouse's environment, which does happen when the greenhouse does not have a heatshield, avoiding the condensation and the diseases due to fungus.
